Degrees/Certificates
First Year - Experiencing DiscipleshipThe Certificate of Discipleship program will be focused on the training of students in discipleship to lay a solid foundation for their faith. The missional concept will be emphasized as well as Bible study.
Through relationships, experiences and teaching, we desire to enable you to know God more, learn how to hear His voice, develop in personal character, share the message of Jesus, and truly live in a world that needs Jesus.
Through many different outreach opportunities, from local ministry to world missions, you will learn how to see the world as Jesus sees it... with compassion, and know that you are able to make a difference wherever God leads you.
The Word of God is our foundation. You will be challenged to face the realities of life and learn how the Word of God can change you.
You will not exit from Basic Discipleship Training the same person! If you are willing to be challenged and allow passionate leaders to guide you in your walk with God and walk with you into the dream that God has placed in you, so that the rest of your life will have meaning and purpose, then this is the place for you.
Romans 12:1-2
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Those who complete one year can receive a Certificate of Discipleship.
Second Year - Enabled for Leadership
Returning for a second year gives each one the opportunity to build and bring focus to their training as they develop their skills and talents for leadership. They will come to understand their individual and corporate responsibilities as a part of the body of Christ. Through in-depth personal mentoring with faculty, continued study and ministry experiences, students will be enabled to take on leadership roles that involve both outreach and on-campus ministries.
Second year is time for digging deeper into the Scriptures, dealing with biblical disciplines, and reaching farther into the areas they grew in during their first year. Students will build on these foundations and begin to move forward to see their dreams take shape.
2 Thessalonians 3:4-5
“We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.”
Those who complete two years can receive a Diploma of Leadership.
Third Year - Leadership Training
Third year students are here to respond to God’s call on their lives as they expand their knowledge, skills and experiences. They are given the opportunity to take on responsibilities that will give them first hand experience in ministry. A more in-depth approach to practical ministry will be taken to prepare them to step into a role within the church following the IBC experience. They will be involved in a practicum of off-campus ministry training under the appropriate leadership that pertains to their calling.
2 Timothy 2:2:
“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.”
Those who complete the third year will receive a Bachelor of Ministry.
